Our Story
Roots Education grew from our shared experiences as educational professionals working across nursery, primary and secondary settings. Throughout our careers, we have seen first-hand the impact of the SEND system on children, young people, and their families - both when support is in place and when it is not. These insights have shaped our understanding of how crucial early identification and consistent, informed support can be in helping children access the opportunities they deserve.
These experiences have led us to establish Roots Education as a consultancy dedicated to supporting parents and carers as they navigate their child’s journey. Just as strong roots provide stability, nourishment and the foundation for growth, we aim to help families build a solid base of knowledge, guidance and advocacy. By working closely with those who know their children best, we strive to ensure that every child is recognised, supported and given the best possible start.
Our Mission
At Roots Education, our mission is to empower children, young people and their families with the clarity, knowledge and support they need to move forward with confidence.
We are committed to helping families build the understanding and confidence needed to navigate the SEND system. Whether that be advice, support with paperwork, understanding legal jargon, liaising with Local Authorities, we want to support and empower families through what can be an incredibly emotional and difficult journey.
We believe that when the right guidance is in place, every child can make meaningful progress in a way that recognises their individual strengths, needs and potential.
Our Approach
At Roots Education, we believe that navigating education and SEND support should feel clear, accessible and rooted in genuine understanding. Unfortunately, we know first hand that the system is complex, political and difficult for parents. Building on the experiences that shaped our story, our approach combines evidence‑informed practice with practical, personalised guidance, tailored to each child and their family.
Grounded in the idea of strong roots providing stability and direction, we work alongside parents and carers to help them feel confident and supported in the decisions they make. By offering clear, thoughtful guidance and recognising the individuality of every child, we aim to create an approach that is both informed and firmly grounded in what families truly need.
